Prodical monster, is a story focused on raising awareness of positive mental health and rehabilitation services; as well as exploring the path of recovery for those who are incarcerated.
This film is backed by the mental health community on a national level with national bodies such as the Association of drama therapists (which has 800 members across the country, Mindfulness UK (which works with 1000 practioners and mental health trusts), The Restorative justice council (which represents 300 practioners nationwide), Asylum magazine and a number of Recovery colleges across the country supporting the production and its eventual release.
The Prodical monster tells the story of a young man who finds himself sectioned in a psychiatric hospital after spending time in prison. Our narrative explores the impact that therapeutic/rehabilitative services and lived experience practitioners (such as experts by experience and peer mentors) can have on helping people to recover from mental illness and turn away from a life of crime.
